ARTISTS
BHEKI KHOZA (SA) in concert with VICTOR KUNONGA - WED 17 OCT - 8pm - South Africa's virtuoso maskanda/jazz guitar maestro, the revered Bheki Khoza, takes the stage in this ground-breaking jazz/world music collaboration with one of Zimbabwe's top mbira-influenced artists, the one and only Victor Kunonga.  The two have worked hard to build the fusion that rocked Harare once in June 2012, an amazing meeting of the mbira-derived patterns of Kunonga, and the maskanda Zulu tradition and its jazz interpretations by Bheki Khoza.
 
CHIWONISO MARAIRE and TUMI & THE VOLUME (SA) - FRI 19 OCT - 9pm - Zimbabwe's acclaimed mbira vocalist and player Chiwoniso Maraire in a stunning stage collaboration with South Africa's internationally renowned jazz/hip-hop trailblazers, the fabulous Tumi & the Volume, a vivid and exciting collaboration that kicked off to standing ovation at Rwanda's Kigali Up Festival in July. The show opens with Zimbabwe's critically acclaimed innovators of mbira and world music, NETSAYI Chigwendere and the Zimbabwe Electro-Acoustic Supply Authority.  
 
NTANDO BANGANI (SA) in concert with ALEXIO KAWARA - SAT 20 OCT – 9pm – A Zimbabwean debut for the immense South African singer/songwriter and recording star Ntando who created an international storm with his smash hit 'Dali Wami'. His debut album sold a million copies and 3 more since have kept him high in the South African charts. Multi-award winning Ntando, who has headlined at South Africa's Cape Town Jazz Festival, collaborates live on stage with Zimbabwe's own massive talent and fast rising star Alexio Kawara. 
 
PRUDENCE KATOMENI and HOPE MASIKE (with Down time Quintet, Italy) - FRI 19 OCT – 8pm - Darling of the jazz stage PRUDENCE KATOMENI, flitting in and out of the jazz circuit over many years has been regarded by more than a few as one of if not the greatest jazz singer Zimbabwe has produced in the current era. She never fails to delight with her amazing vocal range, extraordinary poise and power, and memorable performances. Catch her while you can!  Modern mbira princess HOPE MASIKE has returned to Zimbabwe after travelling and studying in Norway, and brings with her an exhilarating multi-influenced sound from which she creates exciting musical experiments, now with mbira crossing over into jazz.  Backed by KAKUWE, (the backing group formed in their Zimbabwe College of Music days,) she is popular and busy on the music scene, delighting fans and growing audiences.  Hope released her debut CD ‘Hope’ in 2010, and her second CD ‘Hope, Love and Chocolate’ in 2012, both of which have received good airplay on national radio. She continues to tour widely.
