“Around 1,000 delegates attended throughout the 5-day program that included panel discussions, workshops, collaborations, speed networking sessions while 9 productions (about 80 artists) were showcased to an audience of bookers, managers and event organizers” says Bayimba Director Faisal Kiwewa.
Bayimba - together with its partners in the East African region and with Mimeta support - organized the 2nd edition of DOADOA-East African Performing Arts Market that was developed as a regional networking platform for the performing arts industry in the region. DOADOA was introduced to improving the mobility of artists within the East African region and to enhance their chances for a career beyond their own region. The market aims at making regional and international markets accessible to artists, enticing scouts to meet and interact with the artists while offering them expertize and advice on how to make the next step in their career.
