Media Balady was as established by a group of volunteers from various artistic and cultural backgrounds in 2011. Main objective is to observe, document, publish and conduct media coverage for cultural and artistic events that do not abide by the market´s commercial criteria, and that do not attract the media, i.e. independent art and culture. After the Egyptian revolution the role of Media Balady became much more important by giving chance to the different talents to express themselves freely, as opposed to the mainstream media channels.
