The overall aim of Tandem Shaml is to foster long-term collaboration between cultural professionals from the Arab Region (participants of the Abbara capacity building programme of Al Mawred Al Thaqafy) and Europe (including Turkey).
During a Partnership Forum all participants try to identify a new partner organisation they would like to collaborate with during the one-year long Tandem Shaml process. All Tandems that have been newly established during the Partnership Forum are invited to submit a full proposal and compete for participation in the main phase of the programme.
The programme is for cultural managers from cultural organisations with experience in international project work and an interest in long-term collaboration with Arab partners. English language skills are an essential prerequisite for the successful implementation of a cooperation and co-production. Therefore, the project is targeted at cultural managers with a record of international cooperation and a good command of English. Selection for the partnership forum is based on the quality of the application and inviting a balanced match of interests and professional backgrounds to the Partnership Forum.
