Annoncement from PANAF Newsletter , June edition:
The Pan-African Network for Artistic Freedom (PANAF) is excited to announce a call for writers to contribute to a series of commissioned articles.
PANAF is seeking writers from The Gambia, Zambia, and Kenya to focus on the following topics:
The Emerging Generation of Socially Conscious Artists: Profiling leading socially conscious artists
Economic Empowerment through Art: Highlight initiatives and artists who are using their creativity to generate income, support local economies, and empower marginalised communities.
Since its inception, PANAF has been collaborating with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), artists, and culture producers in the advocacy for artistic freedom. Among our milestones are eight comprehensive reports that analyse the legal and institutional frameworks related to artistic freedoms, offering valuable recommendations.
Additionally, PANAF has developed a resource-rich website where artists and cultural professionals can stay informed, share information (including violations of artistic rights), and promote socially conscious art and content. Our Chatroom section also provides a platform for discussions on artists’ welfare and their role in fostering accountability, transparency, and social change.
The commissioned writers will be expected to:
Conduct thorough research and interviews with selected artists and cultural professionals.
Write engaging and informative articles of 800-1000 words.
Provide high-quality images of the artists and their work (with permission).
Ensure all content is original, unpublished, and free of plagiarism.
Meet all deadlines and maintain regular communication with the PANAF editorial team.
Adhere to PANAF’s guidelines and feedback for revisions if necessary.
